ContextIn July 2019, the San Mateo Civil Grand Jury released a report calling for improved schedule coordination between Caltrain and SamTrans. The report concludes that “despite the ‘Caltrain Connector’ designation expressed in the logo shown in samTrans schedules [on 16 bus lines], SamTrans makes no effort to coordinate these buses’ Caltrain station arrival and departure times with the Caltrain train schedules.” To assist with the San Mateo Civil Grand Jury inquiry and to highlight the broader implications of equitable access along the Caltrain corridor, Friends of Caltrain partners with Seamless Bay Area to analyze the existing barriers citizens face in accessing Caltrain and the contributing factors.
